Fabric Workload Hub (Coming Soon)
It's expected that in Q4-2024, Microsoft will launch the Microsoft Fabric Workload Hub. This will allow organizations to find, install, and manage additional Workloads from within Fabric. Until then, you must install the Fabric Workload Manually as indicated below.
Before we get started installing the workload, we need to ensure that your Fabric instance has some key administrator priveledges in place.
Interloop uses service principles to access your Fabric Instance programatically on your behalf. For this to function properly, you'll need to ensure that this capability is enabled. An Administrator will need to navigate to the Admin Portal > Tenant Settings > Developer Settings and ensure that the "Service Principles can use Fabric API's" is enabled for the entire organization.
To ensure that additional workloads can be added to your Fabric Instance, an Administrator will need to navigate to the Admin Portal > Tenant Settings > Additional workloads and enable the "Capacity admins and contributors can add and remove additional workloads" option.
Your Interloop Expert will be able to provide you with the lastest version of the Workload as a .nukpg
package that can be uploaded into your Fabric Tenant. To upload the Workload, an Administrator should navigate to Admin Portal > Workloads. Click the "Upload Workload" button and select the Workload package from your local machine.
Once you've uploaded the Interloop Workload package, you will see the installed workload listed. Hover over the Workload record and click the Settings icon.
Once you install, you should click the "Add" button.
Once the Workload is installed successfully, you can navigation to https://app.fabric.microsoft.com/home to see all of your available Workloads. You should see the Interloop Workload available in the bottom right hand corner.
Continue on to the Usage Guide to learn more about how to make the make of Fabric with Interloop Mission Control.
Microsoft Fabric has not released the Workload Hub to all users, if you want to see what that experience will be like in the coming months - we can simulate the Workload Hub experience by appending &showWorkloadHubWithEmptyMarketplace=1
to the Fabric URL. For example:
https://app.fabric.microsoft.com/home?experience=power-bi&showWorkloadHubWithEmptyMarketplace=1
This will show the Workload Hub navigation item in the left hand nav bar.
To see the details of the Mission Control Workload, select Interloop. This will provide further detail and information about which Fabric Items are supported by this Workload.
Anticipated to be launched in Q4/2024, you will be able to install the Interloop Fabric Workload directly through the Microsoft Fabric Workload Hub.
